Debbie Smith Ribbon Cutting
WCSD recently celebrated the grand opening of its newest high school: the Debbie Smith Career and Technical Education Academy. The ribbon-cutting ceremony represented the culmination of thousands of hours spent in design and construction by hundreds of people across multiple industries. With school starting on August 11, about 1,000 students will be able to participate in the nine CTE academies available: Culinary Arts with Hospitality and Tourism, Engineering & Manufacturing, Marketing and Multimedia, Biomedical Technology, Practical Nursing and Nursing Assistant, Natural Resources & Animal Sciences, Welding and Metalworking, Building Construction and Technology, and Teaching & Training. In an economy that is growing fast, having a CTE high school in Nevada will give students of Nevada a head start in pursuing their dreams, and we are so proud that AAME was able to be a part of this amazing project.
