Stead Elementary Groundbreaking
Earlier in the summer and as one of the first construction projects part of their current facility modernization plan, WCSD held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Stead Elementary School which will replace the existing 1950s era school building. This school will be the latest school to use the elementary school prototype design that AAME helped develop for WCSD back in 2017 for Nick Poulakidas Elementary School. The mechanical design utilizes ground source heat pumps paired with a geo-exchange bore field. With construction underway, the school is scheduled to open to around 700 students in August of 2026.
